Co. Tipperary, Ireland
Diarmuid Commins is a native of County Tipperary which lies in the heart of Ireland, steeped in history and surrounded by stunning scenery. With the Galtee mountains rising in the south, Lough Derg and the River Shannon meandering through the north and of course, the historic Rock of Cashel, seat of the High King if Munster, inspiration was all encompasing. This inspiration would later be put to good use!
Diarmuid is the creative mind behind the yarn. He has always had a love for wool, from when he first started working in a weavery in County Wexford. He later moved to England to study with a master weaver. Once this skill was perfected he then moved to Brazil where he studied the art of natural dying. When he returned home to Ireland his love of wool stayed with him. He decided to delve deeper into the world of Irish wool. He quite quickly discovered that no one was using wool sourced exclusively from Irish sheep and he endeavoured to remedy this. Thus began the story of Yarn Vibes.
